Jonas Bertling

Role: Jonas will be the international member of the Advisory Group for the PISA21 responsible for the quality assurance of the project and ensuring that the project is running to the expected standards and advising on procedures and priorities as needed.

Background: In his role as NAEP Item Development Deputy Director and PISA 2021 Core B2 Project Director, Jonas is leading research-based development of socio-emotional skills and opportunity-to-learn measures for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) and the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) at Educational Testing Service (ETS). Since his start at ETS in 2011, Jonas has shaped the innovation agenda for the contextual questionnaires in NAEP and PISA. In addition, Jonas has served as a consultant to OECD for PISA 2012, 2015, and 2018 where he contributed to international reports and authored the PISA 2018 Well-being Assessment Framework. Jonas also leads the PISA21 Questionnaire Expert Group and will act as an adviser for OUCEA for PISA21.
