PISA is a global assessment that measures the mathematical, reading, and scientific literacy of 15-year-old pupils. Participating in PISA provides an opportunity for countries to find out how well their pupils can apply their knowledge to real-world situations. On February 14th, 2022, the Oxford University Centre for Educational Assessment (OUCEA), lead by Professor Therese N. Hopfenbeck (Director and Professor, OUCEA, Official Fellow at Kellogg College and Research & Dissemination Lead for PISA 2022) and the Pearson team, led by Associate Professor Grace Grima (Director of Research at Pearson UK and PISA 2022 National Project Manager for England, Wales, and Northern Ireland) engaged with experts who delivered useful insights on what we have learned about pupil achievement based on the results from PISA 2018. The webinar also provided an exciting discussion in which we will share greater insight about PISA 2022, including the nature of the assessment, the impact of COVID-19 and the next steps as we prepare to engage in one of the most prominent and unique global assessments.
It was a great opportunity to bring together 118 participants from 17 countries, including nations from the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Australia, Kenya, Ghana, and Hong Kong.
